In the evening, when a worry won't let you let go.
Technique
Self-hypnosis: the control room: You turn down imaginary dials one by one: noise, tension, thoughts.

Who is this session for?

This session is designed for anyone whose mind continues to race with daytime worries right at bedtime. It is especially helpful if you feel overwhelmed by your own thoughts and need a gentle, structured way to find quiet at the end of the day.

How does it unfold?

  1. at the startPreparationThe voice gently reassures you that you remain in full control while entering a natural, comfortable state of rest.
  2. around 1 minInductionYou focus on your eyelids, allowing them to become so heavy and relaxed that they simply prefer to stay closed.
  3. around 3 minDeepeningYou slowly walk down a safe, ten-step mental staircase, doubling your physical relaxation with every single step.
  4. around 6 minThe CoreYou enter a mental control room to gently turn down the dials for your vigilance, the room's light, and the volume of your thoughts.
  5. around 10 minAnchoringThe voice helps you create a breathing trigger so you can easily recreate this deep calm on future nights.
  6. around 11 minDriftingThe guidance slowly fades into long, peaceful pauses, letting time stretch out as you drift away.

Why does it help you sleep?

This visualization gives your active mind a concrete task, gently distracting it from everyday concerns. By imagining sliders and dials, you translate the abstract feeling of stress into something you can easily control and turn off. As you mentally lower the volume of your thoughts, your physical tension drops, helping your body settle into a deep, peaceful sleep.

How to listen

Listen to this recording while lying comfortably in bed, with the volume set very low so the voice feels like a soft murmur. You do not need to stay awake until the end; drifting off before the session finishes is completely natural and expected.

Welcome to this quiet moment just for you… Self-hypnosis is a very simple and natural state, just like being completely absorbed in a good book… You remain entirely in control the whole time, choosing how deeply you want to rest… There is nothing you need to achieve tonight, nothing to get right… You can fall asleep right now, or in just a few moments… and if you drift into sleep before my voice fades, that is exactly as it should be…

You are lying down in your bed… you can feel the comforting softness of the mattress beneath you… you are listening to my voice, your eyes are closed, you are breathing softly, and you can just let go…

Focus your gentle attention on your eyelids… Allow them to become beautifully heavy… so heavy, so wonderfully relaxed, they just do not want to work anymore… Even if you tried to open them, they would just prefer to stay comfortably closed…

Imagine this soothing heaviness spreading in gentle waves… flowing across your forehead, smoothing out any lines… down your cheeks, and softening your jaw… And any everyday sounds you might hear outside this room only serve to deepen your comfort, acting as a reminder that the world is safely carrying on while you rest…

Now, in your mind's eye, imagine a beautiful, safe staircase in front of you… Ten wide, comfortable steps leading down into absolute tranquility… I will count down from ten to one… and with each number, you can step down and allow yourself to go twice as deep into relaxation…

Ten… stepping down, feeling the soft surface beneath your feet…

Nine… letting your shoulders drop, deeply and safely relaxed…

Eight… And as you exhale slowly, you can allow yourself to drift even deeper into this deeply peaceful feeling…

Seven… stepping down, sinking further… Let us pause here for a second and step back up slightly to step eight, just to feel how much better it is to turn around and sink right back down to seven… and then down to six… going even deeper…

Five… the numbers are getting pleasantly blurry in your mind now…

Four… fading away, losing their shape and meaning…

Three… letting the numbers drift away completely…

Two… almost at the bottom now…

One… When you reach the bottom of the stairs, you will feel completely at peace…

You find yourself stepping into a safe, deeply comfortable control room… your own private sanctuary of the mind… In front of you is a simple, elegant dashboard with smooth dials and sliders… You reach out and gently touch the slider for your daytime vigilance, which might currently be at a ten… Slowly, gently, you slide it down… nine, eight, seven… feeling your awareness soften and blur… sliding it further down to four, three… and all the way down to zero… completely letting go of the day…

Next, you find the dial for the light in the room… and you turn it down, dimming the space into a soothing, restful twilight… a beautiful dusk that wraps around you like a warm blanket…

And finally, you find the volume knob for your thoughts and evening worries… you slowly turn it down, lower and lower… the chatter fading away… turning it down until there is only a comfortable, quiet silence…

In this beautiful silence, you are sinking deeper into sleep like a stone gently drifting down in warm, calm water… floating softly through the pleasant, quiet depths… guided by the gentle, steady rhythm of your chest slowly rising and falling… And it is so easy to *sleep deeply* tonight…

Your body knows exactly how to sleep… it knows how to rest, how to heal, and how to restore your energy… And for all the nights to come… every time your head safely touches the pillow and you exhale slowly three times, this deep calm will return instantly…

Your mind knows how to lower the volume of your thoughts all by itself, automatically bringing you back to this quiet space…

If you ever need to get up during the night, you will naturally regain full alertness… but for now, there is absolutely nothing to do… The time can stretch out beautifully… each minute of rest feels like an hour of deep, nourishing peace…

Just drifting…

Floating quietly…

Letting go completely…

Deeper and deeper into the calm…

Safe, warm, and perfectly relaxed…
