Self-hypnosis: the safe place: Deep relaxation leads to a peaceful inner place.

This session is a moment of relaxation. It does not replace professional support. If you have any kind of dependence, talk to a doctor or a support service in your country, and don't stop on your own without medical advice.

Who is this session for?

This session is designed for anyone who struggles with evening urges, like endless phone scrolling or late-night snacking, when they should be resting. It is perfect for those moments when you feel restless and want to gently detach from your daily routines to find a quiet state of mind.

How does it unfold?

  1. at the startPreparationYou are gently introduced to a natural state of relaxation where you remain completely in control.
  2. around 1 minSensory InductionYou slowly focus on the sounds around you and the weight of your body until your eyelids naturally close.
  3. around 3 minDeepeningA slow countdown guides you down a pleasant path, increasing your physical comfort with every step.
  4. around 6 minThe Safe ShoreYou build a peaceful mental sanctuary where you simply watch your daily urges rise and fade away like ocean waves.
  5. around 10 minAnchoringYou receive a gentle suggestion to easily return to this safe place every night when your head touches the pillow.
  6. around 11 minGentle ReturnA steady count from one to five helps you bring this comforting awareness back into your present moment.

Why does it help you sleep?

By visualizing your daily habits as simple ocean waves, this technique helps you step back from the need to react. Instead of fighting a restless mind, your attention is redirected toward building a safe, sensory-rich sanctuary. This gentle mental shift releases physical tension and calms your breathing. It teaches your brain to associate your pillow with deep peace, which may facilitate a much easier transition into sleep.

How to listen

Listen to this recording in a comfortable seated or lying position with the volume turned down low. If you play it right before bed, you can simply ignore the final wake-up countdown and let yourself drift off before the session ends.

This is a hypnosis session to take a moment of calm and step back from a daily habit, like checking your phone or snacking.

Hypnosis is simply a natural state of mind, much like when you are completely absorbed in a good book… and you always remain in full control.

Deep relaxation might arrive easily today, or it might take a little longer, or your mind might just wander… and every one of these experiences is perfectly fine.

There is nothing you need to do right now, and absolutely nowhere else you need to be.

Your body is resting exactly where it is, comfortably supported and secure.

As you settle in, you might begin by noticing a few things you can hear around you… perhaps the sound of my voice, or the quiet hum of the room.

Then you might notice what you can feel… the weight of your body, or the gentle movement of your chest.

And as you breathe in deeply and let the warm air flow out completely, you might notice your eyelids becoming wonderfully heavy and ready to rest…

You can allow them to close at their own pace, naturally shutting out the visual world.

Your breathing keeps going on its own, steady and calm, finding its perfect rhythm.

Imagine a pleasant path gently sloping downward, leading to a place of profound comfort.

I will count backward from ten to one, and with each number, your body can sink deeper.

Ten… taking the first step down, feeling a wave of ease wash over your shoulders.

Nine… descending further, as your muscles loosen and let go.

Eight… the numbers are starting to become a little blurry in your mind.

Seven… drifting downward, twice as deeply relaxed, the outside world fading.

Six… getting smaller, harder to see, floating further into the distance.

Five… halfway down the path, wrapped in a comfortable heaviness.

Four… the remaining numbers might just slip away on their own.

Three… deeper and deeper still, releasing any lingering tension.

Two… almost there, twice as peaceful.

One… arriving completely at the end of the path, resting in absolute stillness.

What was just a moment ago will soon be a little while past, and what is arriving was already here, just waiting slightly ahead of where you used to be…

Here, it is peaceful.

Here, at the end of the path, you discover a beautiful, safe shore… a sanctuary created just for you.

Notice the soothing colors around you… perhaps the soft blues of the water, or the gentle golden light.

You can feel a perfect, mild temperature on your skin, like a warm breeze carrying away the stress.

Listen to the steady, distant sound of the water… a rhythmic, endless motion of waves softly touching the shore.

Sometimes, a little urge or a habit appears… the thought of picking up a screen, or finding a snack.

From this safe shore, you can simply watch that urge arrive, just like a wave rolling in from the ocean.

The wave rises, gathers a little energy, and approaches the sand… but you do not need to do anything at all.

You can just observe it… watch it crest, and then naturally lose its momentum.

And as this wave gently rolls back into the ocean, your mind becomes even clearer.

The urge might pass completely, or linger a little in the background, and whatever happens is fine.

If a sound occurs outside your room, it simply becomes a part of this quiet moment.

You have this wonderful ability to step back and watch things pass without reacting.

And this safe, peaceful shore is always here for you, deeply anchored in your mind.

Every night, when your head touches the pillow and you breathe out slowly to release the day, you can always return to this safe sleep place.

Your body will know how to rest, and your mind will remember this exact feeling of peace.

But for now, it is time to gently bring this comforting awareness back with you into your day or evening.

I am going to count slowly from one to five, and at five, you will be fully awake and refreshed.

One… feeling the surface beneath you, as your body slowly begins to awaken.

Two… a fresh, gentle energy starts to flow into your muscles, hands, and feet.

Three… becoming aware of the room around you, the sounds nearby, and the present moment.

Four… taking a slightly deeper, energizing breath now, feeling clear-headed, calm, and completely present in the room around you.

Five… whenever you are ready, you can let your eyes open at their own pace, refreshed and ready for what comes next.
