In the evening, to unplug from screens before sleep.
Technique
Rapid induction (Elman): A quick way into relaxation, through the eyelids then the whole body.

Who is this session for?

This session is for anyone who feels overwhelmed by the constant mental scrolling and digital noise of the day. It is especially helpful if your mind races at bedtime and you struggle to shut down your thoughts. If you need a gentle way to transition from a state of high alertness to deep relaxation, this audio will softly guide you there.

How does it unfold?

  1. at the startPreparationYou are reminded that self-hypnosis is a natural state, like being absorbed in a book, and given permission to simply let go.
  2. around 1 minInductionA wave of comfort sweeps from your head to your toes as you imagine your eyelids becoming too heavy to open.
  3. around 2 minDeepeningA slow countdown helps double your relaxation with every step, until the numbers blur and fade entirely from your mind.
  4. around 4 minThe CoreYou mentally dim the glowing screens and close the open windows of your day, then imagine yourself as a smooth stone sinking safely into warm water.
  5. around 7 minReinforcementYou build trust in your body's natural ability to rest and set a simple breathing trigger to help you fall asleep faster on future nights.
  6. around 8 minSlipping AwayTime gently stretches out as the guidance slows down, leaving you with soft, quiet suggestions to drift into uninterrupted sleep.

Why does it help you sleep?

This technique helps by giving your overstimulated mind a concrete, visual way to power down. By imagining a control room where you manually dim the lights and close mental tabs, you actively shift your attention away from daily worries. The metaphor of sinking into warm water then translates this mental quiet into a physical sensation of comforting heaviness. This combination naturally relaxes your body and signals to your mind that it is finally safe to rest.

How to listen

Listen to this session in bed with the lights out, using comfortable headphones at a low volume. Settle into your favorite sleeping position, and remember that it is perfectly fine to drift off long before the recording ends.

You are resting on your bed, listening to my voice… and this is exactly where you need to be. Tonight, we will use a gentle self-hypnosis to disconnect from the busy day. Self-hypnosis is a completely natural state… just like when you are absorbed in a good book… where the world simply fades away. You remain in control… there is nothing you need to achieve tonight. Whatever you experience is perfectly right for you. And if you drift into sleep before my words end… that is exactly what you are meant to do.

Right now, you can feel the softness of your mattress… you can hear the quiet rhythm of your breathing… and you can hear the calm sound of my voice. As you notice these three simple things, your body can settle completely. Imagine your eyelids becoming incredibly heavy… so deeply relaxed that they simply refuse to work. They just want to stay comfortably closed. You do not even need to test them… just enjoy this absolute rest. Let this beautiful wave of comfort start at the top of your head… flowing all the way down to your toes… sweeping away the busy energy of the day.

As we count down from ten to one, let every number guide you twice as deep into relaxation. Ten… feeling your body sink a little more into the mattress.

Take a slow, gentle breath in, and as you quietly exhale, you can allow yourself to drift a little deeper into this wonderful calm…

Nine… allowing the numbers in your mind to become blurry… more distant… Eight… taking a tiny step back up towards awareness, only to instantly drop down twice as deep as before… Seven… letting the numbers fade away, disappearing completely into the background… Six… you do not even need to hold onto them, just let them go… Five… drifting down… Four… three… letting your mind release the count entirely… two… one…

In this peaceful space, imagine stepping into the quiet control room of your mind. You see the glowing screens of the day's thoughts, the endless scrolling, the open windows of everything you did today. Very gently, you begin to dim the brightness of those screens. You lower the volume of the mental chatter… further and further… until the room is bathed in a soft twilight. You can choose to fall asleep right now… or in just a few moments… as you close the final tabs of the day. Any passing thought simply becomes a signal to go even deeper into rest.

Now, imagine yourself as a smooth stone, resting on the surface of a beautiful, calm pool of water. It is perfectly safe, warm, and welcoming. Slowly, you begin to sink… sinking deeper and deeper into warm, safe, calm water. Every inch you descend brings a profound sense of comfort… letting the warm water hold you as you drift further away from the waking world.

Your body knows exactly how to sleep. It is a natural ability, woven into your being… and you can trust it completely. Tomorrow night, and every night after, whenever your head touches the pillow and you exhale slowly three times, you will automatically return to this deep, peaceful state, falling asleep even faster.

If you ever need to get up, you will naturally return to full awareness… but for now, there is nowhere else to be. In this space, time begins to stretch… every minute of rest can count as an hour of deep calm.

Allow your chest to rise and fall naturally, knowing that with every gentle breath out, you sleep deeply and peacefully…

Drifting away… so safe… so heavy…

Nothing left to do… just letting go…
