Who is this session for?
This session is designed for anyone struggling to quiet their mind because of repetitive daily urges or mental loops. It is especially helpful when you feel overwhelmed by small automatic habits, like checking your screen, and need a gentle moment to step back and find peace.
How does it unfold?
- at the startPreparationThe voice reassures you that no effort is required and you remain in complete control.
- around 1 minInductionYou are guided to focus on your breathing and the physical weight of your resting body.
- around 2 minDeepeningA slow countdown takes you down a safe, peaceful path toward a quiet river.
- around 4 minCoreYou sit by the water and watch your daily habits drift away like autumn leaves on the current.
- around 7 minReinforcement and AnchoringThe session gently anchors this feeling of distance, reminding you that you can observe without reacting.
- around 8 minReturn to AwakeningA gentle count brings your awareness back to the present, ready to continue your day or drift further into rest.
Why does it help you sleep?
Visualizing your thoughts and urges as floating leaves helps create a comfortable distance between you and your active mind. Instead of fighting your mental loops, you simply watch them pass by, which naturally lowers physical tension. This gentle detachment signals to your body that it is safe to let go. As your attention rests on the steady flow of the imagined river, you relax deeply, which can beautifully facilitate a transition into sleep.
How to listen
Listen to this recording in a comfortable seated or lying position, using headphones at a low volume. Although it includes a gentle waking phase at the end, you can easily use it to unwind before bed, allowing yourself to fall asleep before it finishes.

This is a hypnosis session to take a moment of calm and step back from a small daily habit.
Hypnosis is just a natural state of mind… a bit like being completely absorbed in a good book… where the world around you gently fades away.
You remain in complete control the whole time.
There is nothing you need to achieve here… and no effort is required.
You might find yourself hanging onto every word… or your mind might wander entirely to other places… and every experience is perfectly right for you.
If sleep happens to come, that is fine too… but you can also remain fully awake and simply rest… there is no pressure at all.
Right now, your body is resting… the air is moving in and out… and you are exactly where you need to be.
You can quietly notice a few things you feel… perhaps the weight of your body settling into the surface beneath you… or the temperature of the air resting lightly against your hands.
And you might notice a few things you hear… the sound of my voice… or the quiet hum of the room.
If a sound from outside reaches you, it is just going about its business… and you have nowhere to be.
And each time you exhale a long, slow breath, you can allow the muscles in your shoulders to soften just a fraction of an inch…
The attention gently narrows… making the outside world a little less important…
In a moment, we will walk down a gentle, safe path… toward a quiet river.
I will count from ten down to one… and with each number, the path goes a little deeper into this peaceful landscape.
Ten… stepping onto the soft earth… feeling a sense of quiet settling in.
Nine… the air here is fresh and clear…
Eight… walking easily… trusting your own pace.
Seven… the trees around you offer a comfortable shade…
Six… descending a little further into the calm…
Five…
What was just a moment ago will soon be a long time ago, and what is coming was already here, just a little further than what remains…
Here, it is very calm.
Four… the sound of water is getting closer…
Three… leaving the busy day far behind…
Two… the ground levels out into a soft, grassy bank…
One… you have arrived at the edge of a beautiful, slow-moving river.
You can take a comfortable seat right here by the water.
The river flows steadily… carrying its own quiet momentum…
The image of the river might be very clear… or just a vague feeling… or it might not appear at all… and every experience is exactly as it should be.
And as you watch the surface… you might notice a few autumn leaves drifting by.
In this peaceful place, that little daily habit… that familiar urge to check a screen or look for a snack… can simply become one of those leaves.
It just appears on the surface of the water.
You don't need to catch it… and you don't need to push it away.
It just floats past.
You can watch a leaf drift out of sight, or look at the water, or simply rest your eyes… whether you focus deeply or just let your thoughts drift.
There is a comfortable distance between you, sitting securely on the bank… and the leaf, out there in the current.
It comes into view… and it gently moves along… carried away by the water.
You are just observing.
It feels good to realize that an urge is just a visitor… a temporary shape on the water… passing through.
Your mind knows how to find this comfortable distance.
Your body knows how to sit quietly and let things flow by.
…and as you sit by the water, it is so easy to feel at ease…
You have the ability to just observe… without needing to react.
And whenever you wish, later today or tomorrow… you can picture this calm river, and give yourself permission to just observe.
Just a brief thought of the water… and a gentle breath… can bring back this quiet space.
It is almost time to leave this peaceful riverbank behind… knowing you can return whenever you like.
I will count gently from one to five… to bring you back to full waking awareness.
One… feeling the physical surroundings again… noticing the surface beneath you.
Two… the energy is slowly returning to your muscles… you can gently move your fingers and toes.
Three… taking a slightly deeper breath, filling your lungs with fresh, waking energy.
Four… feeling refreshed, present, and comfortable in your body.
Five… whenever you are ready, you can slowly open your eyes… feeling fully awake and ready to continue your day.
