Ericksonian sleep hypnosis: Gentle, permissive language, images rather than instructions, and nothing to get right.

This session is a moment of relaxation. It does not replace professional support. If you have any kind of dependence, talk to a doctor or a support service in your country, and don't stop on your own without medical advice.

Who is this session for?

This session is for anyone experiencing a sudden urge or craving who needs a gentle way to let it pass. It is especially helpful when restless thoughts overwhelm you and you want to find a quiet space to settle your mind.

How does it unfold?

  1. at the startPreparationThe voice invites you to settle in, reminding you that there is absolutely nothing to achieve.
  2. around 1 minInductionYou focus on your breathing and the comforting heaviness of your resting eyelids.
  3. around 3 minDeepeningYou slowly walk down a safe, warm sandy path toward a vast and peaceful beach.
  4. around 5 minCoreYou observe a wave forming and dissolving on the shore, representing your passing urge fading away naturally.
  5. around 9 minAnchoringYou secure this feeling of ease, learning to recall it later with just three slow breaths.
  6. around 10 minReturnA gentle count brings your awareness back to the present, leaving you clear and balanced.

Why does it help you sleep?

By turning an intense urge into the image of an ocean wave, this technique helps you distance yourself from overwhelming thoughts. Instead of fighting the feeling, your attention is directed to simply watching it rise and naturally fade away. This visualization eases physical tension and teaches your mind that cravings are temporary events that wash away without you needing to react.

How to listen

Listen sitting or lying down with headphones at a low volume whenever a restless thought arises. Although it guides you back to full awareness at the end, it is perfectly fine if you fall asleep before the recording finishes.

This is a hypnosis session to help you take a moment of calm and let a passing urge flow by like a wave.

Hypnosis is simply a natural state of focus, much like being deeply absorbed in a good book. You remain completely in control the entire time, and there is absolutely nothing you have to achieve here. Whatever happens during this time is perfectly fine. You might relax deeply right away, or you might just rest lightly, or it might take a little time, and in every case, you are exactly where you need to be.

Your body is resting, the air comes in, and the air goes out…

And as you settle into this comfortable space, you can let your eyelids become so heavy and so completely comfortable that they just prefer to stay closed. They can rest so fully that there is no need to even test them.

You can begin to notice the sounds in the room, the gentle temperature of the air against your skin, and that quiet feeling of letting go. Right now, nobody is checking anything, not even you. There is absolutely nothing to do, nothing to fix, and nowhere else to be. Your chest rises and falls gently, and with each breath out, your shoulders have the right to lower just a fraction of an inch…

And as that comfortable rhythm continues all by itself, you can imagine a safe, quiet path made of soft, warm sand. This little path leads gently down toward a vast, peaceful beach. I am going to count slowly from ten down to one. With each number, you can take a slow step down the soft dune, feeling twice as relaxed with every step.

Ten… stepping down, feeling the soft sand beneath you.

Nine… the air is fresh and clear, and your body feels a bit heavier.

Eight… moving further down, letting the outside world fade away.

Seven… your hands might feel heavy, or light, or you might not notice them at all, and all of this is perfectly fine.

Six… drifting deeper into this pleasant calmness.

Five…

What felt close a moment ago might seem far away now, and what is coming is already here, resting just behind what is left…

Here, it is peaceful.

Four… twice as deep, settling into the warmth of the sand.

Three… almost there, enjoying this soothing descent.

Two… leaving everything else behind you on the path.

One… arriving safely on the vast, beautiful beach.

You can find a comfortable place to sit on the warm sand, just looking out at the endless, calming ocean. The water stretches out as far as the eye can see, shimmering under a soft light.

As you watch the horizon, you might notice a wave beginning to form far out in the water. This wave is just like that urge you sometimes feel. It gathers a little energy, it rises, and it begins to swell as it moves closer. And instead of fighting it or trying to push it away, you can simply sit comfortably on the warm sand and watch it.

The wave grows, reaching its natural peak, just doing what waves do. And then, effortlessly, it breaks. It rolls gently out onto the shoreline, spreading thin across the sand, losing all its momentum.

It dissolves so quietly back into the vast, calm ocean. As the water rolls back, it is so easy to… feel completely at ease… just watching the water settle.

If a thought or a sound from outside drifts by, it is just like a seagull flying over the water, simply part of the scenery. It is just going somewhere, and you have nowhere you need to go.

Another wave might form, rising and peaking, and you can just let it flow by. It rises, it rolls out onto the sand, and it washes away, leaving the shore incredibly smooth and the water quiet.

You have this natural ability to simply observe things passing by, without ever having to act on them. The sand remains steady, and the ocean always returns to its peaceful balance.

And whenever you wish, later today or tomorrow, you can simply take three slow breaths, picture this smooth sand, and allow any wave to pass by on its own. That calm space can return at its own pace, bringing you back to this feeling of space and ease.

In a moment, I will count from one to five, so you can bring this comfortable clarity back with you as you continue your day or your evening.

One… gently noticing the physical weight of your body resting right where you are.

Two… feeling a fresh, calm energy beginning to flow back into your muscles and your mind.

Three… taking a slightly deeper, refreshing breath, filling your lungs with clear air…

Four… feeling completely clear, balanced, and perfectly calm.

Five… opening your eyes at your own pace, feeling relaxed and fully present.
