Sleep story: A slow story with no suspense: it occupies the mind just enough for sleep to come.

Who is this session for?

This session is perfect for those cold or restless nights when you need a comforting escape to soothe a racing mind. If you are looking for a slow, peaceful atmosphere to help you wind down, this gentle stroll through a warm sanctuary will guide you to rest.

How does it unfold?

  1. at the startEntering the GlasshouseYou step inside the warm, humid conservatory as Elias locks the doors against the cold autumn night.
  2. around 2 minThe Evening StrollYou follow the botanist on a slow walk through the fern gallery, listening to water drops and observing the sleeping garden.
  3. around 8 minThe MoonflowerYou sit quietly on a wooden bench under the moonlight to watch a rare, white flower slowly bloom in the dark.
  4. around 11 minTurning Off the LightsYou watch the lantern fade as the glasshouse settles into total darkness, inviting you to drift into sleep.

Why does it help you sleep?

The contrast between the crisp air outside and the warm humidity inside creates an immediate sense of safety, helping your muscles relax. Following the botanist's slow, deliberate movements naturally slows down your own breathing and quiets your thoughts. By focusing your attention on gentle sensory details like the smell of damp earth and the quiet blooming of a flower, your mind easily lets go of daily stress and shifts into a deep, sleepy calm.

How to listen

Settle comfortably under your covers with the lights out and keep the volume low to fully enjoy the quiet atmosphere. Let the story carry you away, and remember it is perfectly fine to drift off to sleep long before the botanist finishes his round.

The heavy iron key turned in the lock of the main door with a dull, metallic click…

The last visitors of the day were long gone…

Elias, the old botanist and guardian of the grand Victorian glasshouse, stood alone in the quiet entryway…

Outside the tall, arched windows, the crisp, chilly autumn evening was rapidly settling over the city park…

But inside, a warm, comforting humidity immediately wrapped around his shoulders, a gentle embrace against the cold…

He reached for his small brass lantern, striking a match to light the wick…

The golden glow of the brass lantern danced on the broad green leaves nearby, casting soft, familiar shadows against the frosted glass…

Elias began his slow, evening stroll through the different climate zones…

The intricate wrought-iron arches soared high above him, holding the hundreds of glass panes that separated his quiet, tropical world from the cool night sky…

He walked at a gentle pace, his boots making only a muffled sound on the damp, mossy stone path…

Entering the fern gallery, the rich, soothing smell of damp earth filled the warm air, mingling with the scent of ancient bark…

He loved this quiet hour, when the sprawling botanical garden seemed to exhale and prepare for rest…

He paused by a large, drooping frond, carefully straightening a small wooden support stake beside its stem…

The golden glow of the brass lantern illuminated his slow, deliberate movements…

Further down the winding path, he stopped at the edge of a shallow stone basin…

He listened to the soft tinkling of a water drop falling from a giant lily pad, a tiny, rhythmic splash echoing in the quiet air…

Elias wiped a patch of fog from a glass pane with his sleeve, peering out just long enough to see the pale silver disc of the moon rising above the dark tree line…

Just around the corner, on a stack of burlap bags filled with potting soil, a small orange cat was curled into a tight, sleeping ball…

Elias smiled warmly, careful not to disturb the familiar little resident, and continued deeper into the conservatory…

He was heading toward the pavilion of nocturnal plants, a quiet corner he had been checking every night this week…

He arrived at a secluded alcove where a thick, twisting vine climbed the intricate iron trellis…

Elias slowly sat down on a weathered teak bench…

The silver moonlight filtered down through the glass roof overhead, illuminating a single, long white bud hanging gracefully from the vine…

The rich, soothing smell of damp earth grounded him as he waited in the peaceful silence…

Then, very gently, the outer green sepals began to quiver in the still air…

Slowly, the delicate white petals relaxed and unfurled, spreading outward into an immaculate, star-shaped blossom…

A sweet, soft fragrance, much like warm vanilla and jasmine, drifted into the humid air…

Elias smiled softly in the moonlight, his quiet anticipation beautifully rewarded by the rare moonflower…

Satisfied, he reached for his brass lantern and lowered the flame until it flickered out…

He left the alcove with quiet, muffled steps, making his way slowly back toward the entrance…

He clicked off the few remaining nightlights along the path…

The grand glasshouse darkened, bathed only in the pale, silver light of the night sky…

The plants seemed to breathe calmly in the peaceful obscurity, resting quietly under the glass canopy…

The silence became absolute, soft and deep…

The night had fully arrived, bringing a heavy, peaceful stillness to the quiet garden…

A gentle invitation to drift away, into a long, restful sleep…
