Who is this session for?
This session is designed for anyone who carries physical tension into bed and struggles to fully relax their muscles at night. It is especially helpful when your body feels wound up and you need a gentle, structured guide to help you physically let go and transition into rest.
How does it unfold?
- at the startPreparationThe voice introduces self-hypnosis as a natural state and reassures you that you remain in complete control.
- around 1 minInductionYou focus on your breathing and the comforting heaviness of your eyelids to start the relaxation process.
- around 3 minDeepeningYou visualize walking down a staircase, briefly stepping back up, and then plunging twice as deep into comfort.
- around 5 minThe CoreYou use a mental dial to turn down muscle tension from ten to zero, then imagine sinking safely like a smooth stone in warm water.
- around 8 minAnchoringThe guide sets a mental cue so that simply placing your head on the pillow and taking three breaths will bring back this calm on future nights.
- around 10 minDriftingThe words gradually slow down and fade away, allowing time to stretch as you slip entirely into silence and sleep.
Why does it help you sleep?
This specific approach uses a gentle method called fractionation, which involves briefly bringing your attention up before guiding it much deeper into relaxation. By repeatedly moving slightly upward and then plunging further down, your mind stops resisting the descent. Visualizing a control dial also gives your brain a concrete, simple way to process and release physical tightness step by step. This combination effortlessly tires out your conscious thoughts, making it much easier for your body to welcome deep rest.
How to listen
Listen to this recording at a low volume while lying comfortably in your bed, right when you are ready to rest. There is absolutely no effort to make, and it is highly encouraged to let yourself fall asleep long before the audio finishes.

Welcome to this self-hypnosis session. Self-hypnosis is a very natural and comforting state… just like those moments when you are completely absorbed in a wonderful book, and the rest of the world simply fades away. You are always entirely in control of this experience. There is absolutely nothing you need to achieve tonight, no effort to make… and if you happen to fall asleep before my voice stops, that is perfectly fine, and exactly what we want.
Right now, you are lying in your bed… you can feel the support of the mattress beneath you… and you are simply breathing.
As you settle into this quiet space, you might begin to notice your eyelids becoming heavier. They are becoming so heavy, so comfortably relaxed… that they just don't want to open anymore. You don't even need to test them… you can just imagine that soothing, pleasant heaviness spreading outward from your eyes… wrapping your whole mind in a soft, gentle wave of comfort.
You hear my voice… you feel the soft pillow beneath your head… you are breathing softly… and because of all this, you can let yourself go deeper.
To help you descend into sleep, I invite you to imagine a safe, comfortable staircase leading down into a beautiful, quiet space. You step down one step… feeling a wave of relaxation wash over you.
And now, step back up one step, just drifting back up toward the surface for a brief moment… before you immediately step down two steps… going twice as deep into comfort.
Stepping down again… and drifting up just a fraction, feeling your awareness return for a split second… only to plunge down three steps… sinking so much deeper into this wonderful relaxation.
And as you continue to breathe softly, with every single breath out, you can allow yourself to sink a little deeper into this comforting softness.
With every step down, the numbers just fade away… they become blurry and distant, slipping out of your mind completely… leaving only this gentle, endless descent.
If you notice any tension remaining in your body tonight… you can just imagine stepping into a quiet control room inside your mind. In this peaceful room, there is a simple, smooth dial that controls all your muscle tension. It is currently resting at ten… and you slowly, deliberately turn it down to nine… feeling the fibers in your shoulders and neck begin to release…
Down to eight… and seven… letting your back, your arms, and your legs soften entirely into the mattress.
Six… five… four… turning the dial down further and further until it reaches zero… and the physical tension just melts away into the shadows. Even if a tiny muscle still feels tense, that feeling just reminds you how good it is to let go even more.
And as you release this tension, you can picture yourself like a smooth, heavy stone… or a quiet fish… gently descending in calm, warm, and completely safe water. Drifting slowly… sinking deeper into sleep… enveloped by the gentle warmth of the water. You realize how easy it is to *sleep deeply*… surrounded by this peaceful, protective silence.
Your body knows exactly how to sleep. It remembers this deep, natural tranquility. And from now on, every night… whenever your head touches this pillow and you exhale slowly three times… this profound calm will return to you automatically, even faster and even deeper than tonight.
You can drift into sleep right now… or in just a few moments… knowing that if you ever need to get up for any reason, you will naturally regain your full alertness.
But for now, time can gently stretch and slow down. Every minute of rest can feel like an hour of deep, restoring calm…
Drifting further…
Sinking deeper…
Letting the words fade away…
Just peaceful sleep…
