Who is this session for?
This session is designed for anyone who feels physically wound up at the end of the day, carrying stress directly in their muscles. It is perfect to listen to when you are lying in bed, feeling stiff or restless, and need a gentle guide to help your body physically unwind.
How does it unfold?
- at the startPreparationYou are reminded that you are in total control and that it is perfectly fine to drift off early.
- around 1 minInductionYour attention is gently guided to your eyelids, allowing them to become so deeply relaxed that they simply refuse to open.
- around 3 minDeepeningYou mentally walk down a softly lit staircase, letting your relaxation double with every step as the numbers slowly blur away.
- around 5 minThe CoreYou visualize a stiff marine knot softening and untying itself in a warm rain, mirroring your own muscles letting go of all tension.
- around 8 minAnchoringA simple physical trigger is established so you can easily recreate this deep physical calmness on future nights.
- around 9 minDriftingThe guidance gradually fades away, letting time stretch out beautifully as you glide into a long, restorative rest.
Why does it help you sleep?
This specific approach helps to release physical rigidity by using powerful, sensory metaphors. When you imagine the stiff fibers of a knot swelling and softening in warm rain, your mind gently encourages your own muscles to mimic that exact release. By creating a slight distance between your observing mind and your resting body, this technique allows tension to melt away without any conscious effort.
How to listen
Listen to this recording at a low volume while lying comfortably in your bed, fully ready for the night. Allow yourself to simply follow the imagery, knowing it is completely fine if you fall asleep long before the audio ends.

Welcome to this gentle journey into sleep… Self-hypnosis is a completely natural and safe state of mind, just like being deeply absorbed in a good book… You remain entirely in control the whole time, and there is absolutely nothing you need to succeed at… Everything you experience is perfectly right for you… and it is completely fine to drift off into sleep long before I finish speaking…
Right now, you are lying comfortably in your bed… feeling the mattress supporting you beneath… hearing the quiet sound of my voice… and noticing the gentle, natural rhythm of your breathing… With each long, slow breath out, you can allow a deep wave of comfort to completely wash over you…
Bring your attention gently to your eyelids… They are becoming so heavy, so deeply relaxed, that they just will not work… You can imagine this pleasant heaviness growing, without even needing to make the effort to test them… Just let that soothing wave of deep relaxation begin to flow down through your face, your neck, and your shoulders… Any outside sound you might hear will only serve to take you deeper into relaxation…
In a moment, I will count down from ten to one… Imagine yourself standing at the top of a beautiful, safe, softly lit staircase…
Ten… taking the first step down, feeling your relaxation double… sleep deeply…
Nine… stepping down again, letting go more and more…
Eight… doubling that comfort…
Now, imagine stepping back up one step to nine… only to instantly step down two steps to seven… relaxing so much more deeply…
Six… moving further down into this peaceful, quiet space…
Five… halfway to the bottom, letting go completely…
Four… the numbers are starting to become blurry now, fading away into the distance…
Three… drifting further, letting the mind naturally release the count…
Two… the numbers just drifting away on their own…
One… sleep deeply… all the way down…
And as you rest here, you can imagine yourself sinking into sleep just like a smooth, heavy stone… slowly drifting down through calm, warm water… deeper and deeper… And sometimes, the body holds onto the day… like a thick marine knot on a rope, pulled tight by the wind and the salt… Stiff and rigid… But nobody is pulling on that rope anymore… And you can let go of that tension right now, or you can allow it to melt away in a few moments… as a soft, warm rain begins to fall…
Imagine that warm, gentle rain soaking into the stiff fibers of the rope… The fibers naturally drink in the water, swelling softly… becoming supple and smooth… Without any effort at all, the knot begins to loosen… uncoiling on its own… softening, yielding, releasing… The rope rests completely flat, heavy and relaxed… Your body is doing the exact same thing right now… unwinding on its own… And your mind can just drift away to a quiet, peaceful place, simply watching from afar as your body sleeps so peacefully…
Your body possesses a deep, innate wisdom… Your body knows exactly how to rest and sleep deeply… And for all the nights to come… whenever you lay your head upon your pillow, place a hand gently on your belly, and take three slow, long breaths out, this profound physical calmness will automatically return to you… bringing you back to this deep rest, faster and deeper each time…
If you ever need to get up in the night, you will naturally awaken fully alert and capable… But for now, time can stretch out beautifully… Every minute of rest expanding… a long, restorative night ahead of you… Drifting deeper and deeper… heavier and heavier… softer and softer… Letting go completely… So calm… So peaceful… sleep now…
