Why does it help you sleep?
This gentle approach helps shift your attention away from racing thoughts by focusing on soothing sensory imagery. By visualizing sweet memories as fireflies, your mind naturally cultivates gratitude, which releases physical tension. The metaphor of sinking like a smooth stone in warm water creates a sensation of heaviness, signaling to your body that it is safe to let go. This removes all pressure to fall asleep, allowing rest to arrive naturally at its own pace.
How to listen
Listen to this recording at a low volume while lying comfortably in bed, right when you are ready to close your eyes. Simply let the words wash over you, knowing it is perfectly fine if you drift off to sleep long before the session ends.

Welcome to this quiet moment of self-hypnosis, which is simply a natural state of rest, much like being pleasantly absorbed in a good book when the outside world completely fades away… You keep full control of your experience at all times, and there is absolutely nothing you need to achieve right now… Sleep may arrive during this very sentence, or much later, or not at all tonight, and in every case, you are exactly where you need to be, just resting… You can just allow my voice to guide you, or you can let it drift into the background while your mind wanders freely…
Your head rests heavily on the pillow, and the mattress supports the complete weight of your shoulders and your back… You might notice the gentle rhythm of your breath, and perhaps the quiet sounds of the room around you… If a noise occurs outside in the distance, it simply belongs to the night, going somewhere else, and you have nowhere to go… It can just help to deepen your comfort even further… Each time you exhale, as the air leaves your lungs naturally, your shoulders have the right to drop a little more, and you can allow your eyelids to become very heavy…
They can become so completely relaxed that they simply do not want to open anymore, and there is no need to test them… You can just enjoy this feeling of letting go, as your breathing continues all on its own, slow, steady, and perfectly calming…
And as you rest here, wrapped in comfort, you can imagine standing at the top of ten gentle stone steps, leading down into a safe, twilight garden… We can count them down slowly together, and with each number, the mind can go twice as deep, as the numbers themselves start to fade away… Ten… taking that first step down, feeling a comforting wave of relaxation washing over you… Nine… stepping further into the soft evening air, as the numbers become a little blurry in your mind… Eight… going twice as deep into comfort, letting the count simply drift away into the shadows… Seven… the stone steps are smooth and easy to descend… Six… halfway down, and it is so easy to sleep deeply tonight… Five… drifting further down… Four… letting go of the day… Three… almost there… Two… and one… stepping safely into the soft, fragrant grass of this twilight garden…
What was earlier will soon be a long time ago, and what will come was already there, a little further than what remains…
Here, it is quiet.
This twilight garden is wrapped in a soothing, indigo light, and the evening air is perfectly mild against your skin… You can easily find a comfortable wooden bench nestled under a large, protective tree, and just sit for a while to enjoy the stillness… And as you rest on this bench, feeling the cool air, you might let two or three sweet, simple memories of the day softly appear… They might look like small, glowing fireflies slowly dancing in the dusk, or perhaps like delicate night flowers gently closing their petals for the evening… You can just watch them glow for a moment, feeling a gentle, warm wave of gratitude spreading softly in your chest… It is just a soft appreciation for the quiet moments, the simple things that belong to you, and the absolute peace of this evening…
Your body can simply stay on that comfortable bench and fall asleep first, completely relaxed, while your mind safely wanders a little further into the beauty of the garden… Yes, your body knows exactly how to rest, and your mind can just follow whenever it is ready… And as you allow this peaceful gratitude to settle in completely, you might feel yourself sinking deeper into sleep, much like a smooth, heavy stone gently descending through calm, warm water… Sinking softly, deeper and deeper, without any effort at all, just gliding peacefully through the clear, quiet depths… The water is so calm, so incredibly comforting, carrying you all the way down into the most profound and peaceful rest…
Your body has a deep, natural ability to sleep, an ancient wisdom that you can simply trust to take over now… And you can know that whenever your head touches the pillow and you exhale slowly three times, this deep calm and peaceful gratitude can return, exactly at its own pace… Whether you drift off right now, or simply enjoy this wonderful, continuous state of deep rest, your mind is resting deeply and doing exactly what it needs to do to find peace… There is no right or wrong way to rest, only your way, and this quiet time is entirely yours to enjoy without any expectations…
If you need to get up, you will naturally find all your awareness…
But for now…
Time can stretch out…
Every minute feels longer…
Like an hour of peace…
The garden is resting…
The shadows are soft…
Breathing is so slow…
So very calm…
Drifting further down…
Going even deeper…
There is absolutely nothing to hold on to as you exhale slowly, letting each breath gently guide you further down into this comforting quietness…
Just floating effortlessly…
Peaceful and still…
Safe and quiet…
Letting go completely…
