Metaphor self-hypnosis: A symbolic story that carries you into deep relaxation.

Who is this session for?

This session is for anyone feeling overwhelmed by daily tasks or doubting their own natural abilities. It is perfect to listen to when your mind is racing with overthinking, helping you step back and find a quiet space of mental comfort.

How does it unfold?

  1. at the startPreparationThe voice invites you to settle in and reminds you that there is no effort to make and nothing to achieve.
  2. around 1 minInductionYou gently focus your attention on your natural breathing and the physical sensation of your body resting securely.
  3. around 2 minDeepeningYou are guided down a safe, ten-step wooden staircase, letting your sense of relaxation double with each step.
  4. around 4 minCore of the sessionYou observe a skilled artisan shaping wood in a quiet workshop, reminding you to trust your own effortless, innate knowledge.
  5. around 7 minReinforcement and anchoringThe voice helps you internalize this quiet strength so you can easily reconnect with it whenever you need to.
  6. around 8 minReturn to wakefulnessA gentle count from one to five brings your awareness back, leaving your mind clear and your body refreshed.

Why does it help you sleep?

By focusing your attention on a detailed, peaceful scene, your mind stops trying to control every passing thought. The metaphor of the artisan working effortlessly helps release mental tension and physical tightness. As you visualize these smooth, familiar movements, your nervous system naturally quiets down. This gentle shift in perspective allows your body to relax deeply, making it much easier to let go of the day.

How to listen

Listen to this session at a very low volume in a comfortable resting position, whenever you need a peaceful break or are settling into bed. Even though there is a gentle wake-up count at the end, it is perfectly fine to simply let your mind drift and fall asleep before the session finishes.

This is a hypnosis session to take a moment of calm and feel more comfortable with what you already know how to do.

Hypnosis is simply a natural state of focus, much like when you are completely absorbed in a good book… You remain in control the entire time, and there is absolutely nothing you need to achieve here… You might follow every word I say, or let your mind drift away to other places, and both are perfectly fine…

Right now, you can just notice how your body is resting securely on its support, feeling the gentle pull of gravity… Your breathing keeps going all on its own, flowing in and flowing out smoothly, without any effort required from you at all…

There is nothing to figure out right now, and nobody is checking on you, not even yourself… As the air gently leaves your lungs, your shoulders have the right to drop just a fraction of an inch, settling into a deeper state of ease…

You can just accompany that gentle breath, allowing it to find its own natural and comfortable rhythm, soothing your entire body as it flows…

And as this comfort settles, you might imagine standing at the top of a gentle, safe staircase, with ten wooden steps leading down into a peaceful space… I will count from ten to one, and with each number, you can just let yourself relax a little more…

Ten… taking that first step down, feeling the solid wood underfoot…

Nine… letting the outside world fade a bit more into the background…

Eight… perhaps stepping back up to nine for a brief moment, just to feel how much easier it is to step down to seven… and then six, doubling that sense of ease…

Five… halfway down, as the air around you feels perfectly still and comfortably warm…

Four… Three… continuing to glide downward, deeper into this tranquil space…

Two… almost there, feeling lighter and more serene…

One… stepping completely into a space of absolute calm…

What was earlier will soon be a long time ago, and what is to come was already there, just a little further than what remains…

Here, it is calm.

You find yourself looking into a quiet, sunlit workshop… The air smells faintly of cedar and natural beeswax… At a sturdy wooden workbench, an artisan is quietly shaping a beautiful piece of wood… The tools are familiar, worn smooth by years of careful use… There is no rush at all, and absolutely no hesitation…

The artisan does not need to force the wood or overthink the movements… The hands simply remember what they have done a thousand times before… It is so pleasant to watch this steady, fluid motion, and it is so easy to feel at ease, just letting the hands remember…

The wood seems to shape itself, guided by a quiet knowledge that has always been there, resting just beneath the surface… Sometimes we forget how much we already know, until we stop trying so hard and just let our natural abilities take over…

The artisan pauses, brushes away a few soft wooden shavings, and smiles… Everything is exactly as it should be, and the work speaks for itself, effortless and true…

Somewhere inside your own mind, something may have already settled… just like the golden dust in that quiet workshop… You have your own inner knowledge, your own natural way of doing things with grace…

And whenever you wish, on another day, you can simply think back to this quiet workshop to find this ease again, letting it accompany your day and remind you of your quiet strength…

And now, it is time to slowly bring this comfort back with you into the rest of your day… I will count from one to five, and with each number, you will feel more alert and refreshed…

One… noticing the surface beneath you again, feeling the reassuring weight of your body resting there…

Two… a new, gentle energy beginning to flow into your muscles, perhaps moving your fingers and toes just a little bit…

Three… taking a slightly deeper breath now, filling your lungs entirely with fresh, clear air that revitalizes your mind and body…

Four… your mind is clearing, feeling wonderfully light, calm, and present in this moment…

And five… whenever you are ready, at your own comfortable pace, you can open your eyes and gently stretch, completely awake and ready for whatever comes next.
