Cabin Fire: A Digital Detox Before Bed
Step into a snowy mountain cabin where the gentle crackle of a wood fire replaces the glow of screens. Allow your mind to unplug and drift effortlessly into a deep, restorative sleep.
For the best experience, listen with headphones or earbuds.

- Technique
- Heavy eyelids: Attention rests on heavy eyelids, then the release flows down through the body.
Who is this session for?
This session is for anyone feeling overwhelmed by screen time or the constant stream of digital information. It is especially helpful when your mind feels too wired from scrolling or working late to easily switch off. It offers a gentle way to unplug and transition smoothly into a peaceful night.
How does it unfold?
- at the startOpening Ritual and Settling InThe voice guides you to settle comfortably into your mattress and take three slow breaths to begin letting go.
- around 1 minInductionYou are encouraged to notice the natural heaviness of your eyelids, allowing them to close as your facial muscles relax.
- around 3 minDeepeningYou visualize walking down a wooden staircase into a safe cabin, feeling your body grow heavier with each step.
- around 4 minCore ThemeWhile listening to the fire, the voice helps you release remaining thoughts by imagining them as tiny sparks fading into the night.
- around 8 minReinforcement and Post-SessionYou learn a simple gesture, like pressing two fingers together, to instantly recall this feeling of unplugged peace in the future.
- around 10 minEnding Without AwakeningThe guidance gradually fades with slow words, leaving you to drift effortlessly into sleep with the soothing sound of the fire.
Why does it help you sleep?
This method helps you fall asleep by shifting your focus away from the stimulating glow of screens toward a grounding visualization. By imagining your busy thoughts as sparks that quickly fade, your brain stops processing endless information. The rhythmic crackling of the fire acts as a comforting anchor, signaling your nervous system that it is safe to finally rest.
How to listen
Listen right as you get into bed with your phone put away and the volume set low. Lie in your favorite sleeping position, and remember it is perfectly fine to drift off before the recording finishes.

Welcome to this time just for you… Your body already knows exactly how to transition from the busy day into deep rest… You can simply settle in… and notice how the mattress supports you… carrying your weight entirely… If anything needs your attention, you will instantly be fully present… but for now, there is nothing you need to achieve…
As you listen to the gentle crackle of the wood fire in the background, you can take a slow, deep breath in through your nose, letting your belly rise, and exhale fully…
Take another deep, slow breath, feeling the air fill your lungs completely, and then release it, letting go of the day…
And one more deep, comfortable breath in, bringing in calmness, and as you breathe out, let your body sink further down…
Everyone knows that feeling at the end of the day when the eyes just want to rest… You might notice your blinking slowing down… as a gentle warmth seems to soothe all the tiny muscles around your eyes… And when you notice the comforting weight of your eyelids, you can just let them rest entirely… It becomes so much more pleasant to simply keep them closed… You might already feel that your breathing has found its own quiet rhythm… naturally and effortlessly…
And with your eyes resting, you can imagine standing at the top of a small, sturdy wooden staircase… leading down into the warm main room of a mountain cabin… Just a few steps… and the deeper you go down these wooden steps, the more comfortable you feel… Taking the first step down… feeling a wave of heaviness… Then the next step… allowing your body to relax twice as much… Moving down slowly, in complete safety… stepping away from the outside world… until you reach the bottom, wrapped in a deep sense of peace…
Here in the cabin, you are completely sheltered… Outside the window, soft snowflakes are falling… burying all the noise and rush of the world under a thick, quiet blanket of white… Inside, the room is bathed in the golden, dancing light of the fireplace… And with every crackle of the wood fire you hear, you can allow yourself to sink a little deeper…
The bright, artificial lights of screens and the endless streams of information from your day simply dissolve… melting away into this ancient, natural glow… I do not know if your mind will quiet down now, or in just a few moments… but you can let every remaining thought or bit of lingering energy become like a tiny spark in the fire… You watch the spark rise gently… shining for just a second… before it fades and disappears up the chimney into the night sky…
Your mind has nothing left to process… nothing left to scroll through or solve… You are just here, watching the snow fall… feeling the warmth of the fire… resting in this beautiful, empty space…
And if you like, you can gently press your thumb and index finger together for a moment… creating a memory in your body of this exact feeling… Whenever you need to unplug and find this calm again, just repeating this small gesture or imagining the glow of this fire will help bring you back… Each time you listen to this journey, your mind will learn to disconnect faster and more easily…
And there is no effort to make to fall asleep… If sleep comes, simply let it carry you… and if not, this deep rest is already doing you so much good…
Just resting… The warmth of the fire spreading through you…
The sound of the crackling wood watching over you… Letting go…
So heavy… so peaceful… The light of the fire is softly dimming now…
The snow keeps falling… deeply… quietly…
And you can simply drift… letting the comfort take you exactly where you need to go…
