Why does it help you sleep?
This approach works by shifting your attention away from racing thoughts and directing it toward soothing physical sensations. By focusing on heaviness and warmth, you naturally signal your nervous system that it is safe to unwind. This step-by-step focus gently relaxes your muscles, making it much easier for your mind to follow your body into sleep.
How to listen
Listen to this track while lying comfortably in your bed with the volume turned down low. You can let yourself drift off at any moment, even long before the recording finishes, as the music will simply continue to watch over you.

Everyone knows that moment when the body finally settles onto the mattress… letting tensions dissolve to welcome rest.
There is nothing to achieve tonight. You are in control… and if anything needs attention, you will be fully present.
Notice how you are resting right now… feeling the gentle support of your bed beneath you as you prepare to unwind.
Let's begin by taking a long, slow breath in… and then breathing out very slowly, feeling your body sink a little deeper.
Once again, inhale softly, filling your chest… and then exhale with a long, gentle sigh of relief, releasing the day.
Breathe in at your own pace, gathering any lingering tightness… and let it all flow out on a slow, continuous exhale.
Now, you can let your breathing return to its completely natural rhythm, with no need to control anything at all…
I don't know if you will feel heaviness in your right arm first, or your left… simply allow your attention to rest there.
My right arm is heavy… my right arm is heavy… my right arm is heavy… noticing how the mattress supports this comfortable weight.
My arms and legs are heavy… my arms and legs are heavy… my arms and legs are heavy… sinking down into a deep state of rest.
As this comfortable weight settles in, you might silently say… I am completely calm… I am completely calm… I am completely calm…
Your body already knows how to release tensions. When you notice a gentle warmth beginning to spread, simply welcome it.
My arms and legs are pleasantly warm… my arms and legs are pleasantly warm… my arms and legs are pleasantly warm… feeling so cozy.
As this warmth flows through you, your breathing takes care of itself. It breathes me… it breathes me… it breathes me…
Any little sounds in the room or outside can just become a part of this deep quiet… helping you settle even further.
My abdomen is warm… my abdomen is warm… my abdomen is warm… spreading a deep sense of safety throughout your entire core.
While your body enjoys this warmth, a soothing coolness softly touches your brow. My forehead is pleasantly cool… my forehead is pleasantly cool… my forehead is pleasantly cool…
The heavier your body feels sinking into the bed, the lighter your breathing becomes, creating a beautiful harmony.
Imagine a soft feather floating in warm, calm air, drifting down safely… with every breath out, you drift further down with it.
Whenever you wish to find this deep comfort again, especially if you wake in the night, simply feel the blanket's weight…
And you can silently say the word calm, to bring this heavy, warm peace right back to you instantly, without any struggle.
Because night after night, letting go becomes easier… You can take all the time you need, to completely and peacefully rest.
If sleep comes, let it carry you away softly… and if not, this deep rest is already doing so much good for your body and mind.
The music will continue to watch over you, creating a safe space for your rest… Drifting further into comfort, wonderfully relaxed…
