Who is this session for?

This session is designed for anyone struggling to settle down in an unfamiliar environment, such as a hotel room or a guest bed. It gently accompanies you when you are away from home and need to feel safe and grounded after a long day of travel.

How does it unfold?

  1. at the startOpening RitualYou take three slow breaths to settle into your new mattress and realize you are completely secure.
  2. around 1 minBody RelaxationYou progressively relax your muscles from head to toe, letting unfamiliar room sounds deepen your calm.
  3. around 4 minReleasing TensionWith each exhale, you let go of travel fatigue and physical stiffness through your hands and feet.
  4. around 5 minDesert ImageryYou imagine sinking gently into warm, supportive sand under a vast and starry night sky.
  5. around 8 minAnchoring ComfortYou create a physical anchor by pressing two fingers together to remind your body it can rest anywhere.
  6. around 10 minDrifting to SleepThe guidance slows down with longer pauses, allowing you to peacefully drift off into the quiet desert night.

Why does it help you sleep?

Sleeping in a new place often keeps the mind on high alert, listening for unfamiliar noises. This session gently redirects your attention away from the strange room by using comforting sensory imagery, like warm sand and cool nighttime air. By actively releasing travel stiffness through your breath, your nervous system receives a clear signal that it is safe to let your guard down and rest.

How to listen

Listen at a low volume once you are comfortably lying down in your new bed for the night. Do not worry if you fall asleep before the end, as your body will naturally absorb the peace it needs.

Welcome to this space of rest. Everyone knows that feeling of finally lying down after a long day of travel… arriving in a new place… and needing a moment to simply land.

You can let your eyes close now, or in a few moments, whenever you are ready… there is absolutely nothing to do, and nothing to achieve. You are perfectly safe here. If anything needs your attention tonight, you will instantly be fully present and alert… but for now, you can just let yourself be supported.

Take a moment to feel the mattress beneath you… noticing the points of contact between your body and this new bed… your heels, your legs, your back, and your head. It may feel different from your own bed, but it is holding you securely.

Take a slow, deep breath in through your nose… and as you exhale, allow your body to settle completely into this new mattress…

Breathe in deeply once again, feeling your chest expand gently… and breathe out slowly, letting go of all the movement of the day…

And take a third gentle breath in your own time… exhaling smoothly and fully, as your mind begins to open like a vast, quiet sky waiting for you…

When you notice your breathing slowing down all by itself… you can simply welcome that calm. Let your attention drift to the top of your head… smoothing out your forehead… softening the little muscles around your eyes. Your eyelids are becoming so heavy and comfortable… resting gently. Release your jaw… letting your teeth part slightly. Let this wave of relaxation flow down your neck… melting into your shoulders.

Any new sounds in this building or outside your room can just become a signal for your mind to relax even more… reminding you that the world is carrying on while you are safely resting here. Let the relaxation glide down your arms, all the way to your fingertips… down your spine, releasing your back… softening your chest and your stomach… down through your pelvis, your legs, and all the way to your toes.

With each natural exhale you take, just let any travel tension or unfamiliarity flow quietly out through your hands and feet… leaving you lighter…

Whenever you breathe out, you can imagine any lingering tiredness from your journey simply drifting away through your fingertips and your toes…

And as you exhale once more, just let the last bits of tension dissolve into the air… leaving your entire body completely peaceful and perfectly still…

As you rest here, you might imagine that you are sinking safely and easily into soft, warm sand… out in a beautiful, quiet desert. The sand molds perfectly to the shape of your body… holding you exactly where you need support. It still holds the gentle warmth of the daytime sun… soothing your back and your tired muscles.

And above you is an immense night sky. Millions of quiet stars shining clearly in the vast, peaceful darkness. The more your body sinks into this warm sand, the lighter your mind becomes… and I wonder what you will notice first… the vastness of the stars… or the gentle warmth beneath your back…

The air on your face is pleasantly cool and fresh… a perfect contrast to the cozy warmth beneath you. The silence of the desert is vast and deeply comforting. Sinking safely… effortlessly… into this magnificent stillness.

Your body knows exactly how to rest. It knows how to recharge, no matter where you are. You can gently press your thumb and index finger together for a moment… letting this small gesture become an anchor for this feeling of safety and comfort. Every time you sleep in a new place and listen to this session, this deep comfort will return even faster… because you carry your own sense of peace right inside you.

There is nothing left to do but… rest deeply… and let go…

If sleep comes, let it come… and if not, this deep rest is already enough. It counts just as much.

Breathing gently…

Under the quiet stars…

Safe and peaceful…
