Yoga nidra: A journey of attention through the body, lying still, leading into deep rest.

Who is this session for?

This session is designed for anyone who struggles to disconnect from the day's events when their head hits the pillow. It is an ideal mental escape if you have a busy mind and need a warm, comforting atmosphere to smoothly transition into a restful night.

How does it unfold?

  1. at the startSettling InYou take three deep breaths and let your body sink into the mattress while tuning into the soothing sound of ocean waves.
  2. around 1 minBody ScanA continuous, gentle journey through your body parts helps effortlessly occupy and quiet your thoughts.
  3. around 4 minHeaviness and LightnessYou experience the heavy feeling of sinking into warm sand alongside the lightness of a soft evening breeze.
  4. around 6 minTropical Island DuskYou visualize a colorful sunset where the rhythm of the tide washes away the day's lingering thoughts like footprints in the sand.
  5. around 10 minDrifting LeafYou follow the image of a slowly falling tropical leaf and learn a simple physical anchor to recall this calm anytime.
  6. around 13 minDrifting into SleepThe guidance slowly fades away, leaving only the reassuring sound of the ocean to accompany you into the night.

Why does it help you sleep?

The continuous naming of body parts gently occupies your attention, naturally leaving less room for daily worries to intrude. Playing with the contrasting physical sensations of heaviness and lightness helps your muscles release deep tension. Furthermore, the imagery of the tide washing away footprints provides a comforting mental release, signaling to your mind that it is safe to let go of the day.

How to listen

Lie down in your preferred sleeping position and keep the volume low enough so the ocean waves sound distant. Simply let the words wash over you, knowing it is completely fine if you drift off to sleep long before the journey ends.

Welcome to this time of rest… If anything needs your attention, you will instantly be fully present… but for now, there is absolutely nothing you have to do…

Take a moment to notice all the points of contact between you and the surface beneath you… just letting your body be completely supported…

Everyone knows that peaceful moment when the afternoon gently fades into evening… and you can simply allow your eyes to close whenever you wish…

Now, let us take three slow, deep breaths together… breathing in deeply, and sighing it out softly…

Taking a second long breath… drawing in calm, and releasing any tension as you exhale completely into the mattress…

And a third deep breath… letting the air flow out gently, and allowing your breath to return to its own natural rhythm…

Every sound you hear, even the gentle rhythm of the waves in the background, is just an invitation to relax further…

I do not know yet which part of your body will relax first… but simply let your awareness glide along… starting with your right thumb… index finger… middle finger… ring finger… little finger… palm… wrist… forearm… elbow… shoulder… down to your hip… thigh… knee… calf… ankle… and right toes…

Now shifting to the left side… left thumb… index finger… middle finger… ring finger… little finger… palm… wrist… forearm… elbow… shoulder… down to your hip… thigh… knee… calf… ankle… and left toes…

Bring your awareness to the back of your body… feeling your head resting softly… your shoulder blades sinking… your back and legs resting heavily…

And now the front… your forehead… eyes and cheeks… jaw relaxing… chest and belly rising and falling with each natural breath…

Notice the feeling of heaviness… your body sinking gently into the warm, imaginary sand beneath you… pleasantly heavy and safe…

And at the same time, you might notice a lightness… as light as the evening tropical breeze brushing across your skin…

The heavier your body feels, the lighter your breath seems to become… experiencing this heaviness and lightness all at once…

With every exhale, you drift a little deeper into this profound sense of comfort… letting go of whatever is left of the afternoon…

Allow yourself to discover this deep tranquility… as you picture yourself resting safely on a beautiful tropical island at dusk…

The sky above is painted in soft shades of orange and deep purple… as the sun slowly dips below the horizon…

You can feel the lingering heat of the sun in the soft sand… holding you securely as the evening air cools pleasantly…

With every gentle wave rolling onto the shore, your mind washes away a little more of the past hours…

Like footprints on the beach being washed away by the tide, let all previous events dissolve completely into the water…

When you notice the soothing rhythm of the ocean, you can simply allow yourself to let go…

If any thoughts drift into your mind, just watch them pass by like small clouds in the evening sky… letting them float away…

Imagine a green tropical leaf drifting down… swaying calmly in the air… descending peacefully until it rests on the soft earth…

Day after day, you might find that the little worries of daily life take up less space in your mind… leaving room for peace…

Whenever you wish to return to this peaceful island, simply press your thumb and index finger together… and this calm will return…

Every time you listen to this journey, your body will remember how to relax… gliding naturally into this soothing state…

If sleep comes, simply let it come… and if not, this deep, quiet rest is already restoring you…

The beautiful colors in the sky are slowly fading into a soft, comforting, velvety night…

The sound of the ocean waves will continue to watch over you as you rest here safely…

There is absolutely nothing more to do, and nowhere else to be… you can just drift softly…
