Listen
In the evening, to let go of what you can't control.
Technique
Calming metaphor: A slowly told image that speaks of letting go without saying it.

Who is this session for?

This session is for you if you feel overwhelmed by the events of the day and struggle to quiet your mind at bedtime. It is especially helpful when you are carrying worries about things you cannot control and need a safe, comforting space to finally let them go. Listen to this when you crave the cozy feeling of being sheltered from the outside world.

How does it unfold?

  1. at the startOpening and Settling InThe voice guides you to find a comfortable position and take three slow breaths to transition into rest.
  2. around 1 minBody RelaxationYou focus on the natural slowing of your breath and the distant sound of rain to make your eyelids pleasantly heavy.
  3. around 2 minDeepening the ComfortYou are invited to imagine descending into the cozy, warm atmosphere of a country house attic.
  4. around 4 minThe Rain and the Roof MetaphorThe voice uses the image of rain sliding off a sturdy roof to help you release the need to control or fix everything tonight.
  5. around 8 minAnchoring CalmYou gently touch your thumb and index finger together to create a physical reminder of this safe shelter for future use.
  6. around 9 minDrifting into SleepThe guidance slowly fades away with long pauses and short sentences, leaving you to drift off to the sound of the rain.

Why does it help you sleep?

This visualization helps you fall asleep by shifting your attention away from active problem-solving and toward a soothing sensory environment. The metaphor of the rain sliding off the roof naturally encourages your mind to release its grip on daily stressors. By creating a physical anchor with your fingers, your body learns to associate this simple gesture with deep relaxation. This gentle process facilitates a natural transition into sleep without any pressure to succeed.

How to listen

Listen to this recording in bed with the lights off, keeping the volume low enough so the rain sounds like a gentle whisper. Get completely comfortable, and remember that it is perfectly fine if you drift off to sleep long before the session ends.

Welcome. You are here to rest… to let go before sleep.

Everyone knows that moment when the rain outside makes the inside feel even warmer and more secure…

Take a moment to settle down comfortably… adjusting your pillows until it feels just right.

If anything needs your attention, you will be fully present… but for now, you are safe and in control.

Notice the gentle pressure of your body resting against the mattress… the points of contact supporting you completely.

Take a slow, deep breath in through your nose, filling your lungs calmly… and then let the air flow out gently, relaxing your entire body…

Inhale softly again, drawing in a sense of quietness all around you… and exhale completely, letting your shoulders drop down into the softness…

Take one more deep, comfortable breath at your own pace, gathering any tension… and breathe out slowly, allowing yourself to settle even deeper…

When you notice the moment your breath slows down all by itself… you can simply welcome it.

Your eyelids might be feeling heavier now… so pleasantly heavy that it just feels better to keep them closed.

And as you rest here, you might begin to notice a distant sound… a gentle, steady rhythm…

It is the sound of the rain starting to fall on a roof overhead.

Each little noise you hear only helps you sink further into relaxation.

With every breath out, you are drifting deeper into this soothing comfort.

You can focus on the heaviness of your shoulders… or simply listen to the sound of the drops… and both are perfectly fine.

Imagine you are resting in the cozy attic of a beautiful country house.

The room is wrapped in a soft shadow… smelling faintly of dry wood… and you are perfectly warm under a thick blanket.

You are descending smoothly into this cocoon… floating down effortlessly… deeply supported.

This sturdy roof above you has stood through countless seasons.

It never tries to control the clouds… it never tries to stop the water.

It simply allows each drop to land… and lets it glide gently down its tiles… naturally finding its way to the earth.

The more the rain glides along the roof… the more your body sinks into the mattress.

Here inside the attic, there are old wooden trunks quietly covered with soft cotton sheets.

There is absolutely nothing to sort through tonight… nothing to organize.

The old trunks… rest… and you too can… let go…

All those things from the day, the things you cannot control, can simply stay there… in pause.

Your mind is just like this safe shelter.

The events of the world are like the rain outside… they just slide right off the roof, never reaching you in here.

You have absolutely nothing to do but listen to this soothing rainfall.

You can gently bring your thumb and index finger together for a moment… letting them touch softly.

This small gesture is your key to this inner shelter.

During your day, if things feel out of your control, you can touch your fingers together… letting the tension slide away.

Every time you return to this space, letting go will happen automatically.

Tomorrow, you will have all the clarity you need… but for now, only rest matters.

You can let go of your fingers now…

Your body knows how to find sleep… you have nothing to do.

If sleep comes, welcome it softly… and if you just rest here, that is wonderful too.

If anything needs your attention, you will be fully present… but now, you can just drift.

Everything is peaceful…

The music and the rain will watch over you for a while…

Drifting… safe and warm…
