Who is this session for?

This session is designed for anyone whose mind is racing at bedtime, making it difficult to wind down. It is especially helpful when you feel overwhelmed by spinning thoughts from your day and need a comforting space to release them.

How does it unfold?

  1. at the startBreath and Body AwarenessYou are guided to focus on your breathing before moving through a gentle body scan to release physical tension.
  2. around 3 minThe StaircaseA slow countdown takes you down a wooden staircase, helping your body feel heavier and more relaxed with each step.
  3. around 5 minThe Rainy CabinYou step into a warm, cozy cabin where the soothing sound of rain creates a peaceful sanctuary.
  4. around 8 minLetting Go of ThoughtsYou practice placing your racing thoughts on floating leaves, watching them drift away down a gentle stream.

Why does it help you sleep?

When your mind is too active, fighting your thoughts often creates more frustration. Instead of forcing sleep, this technique gently occupies your attention with comforting sensory details like a heavy blanket and falling rain. By visualizing your thoughts as leaves floating away, you create a healthy distance from your daily worries. This process signals to your nervous system that you are safe, allowing physical relaxation and natural rest to emerge effortlessly.

How to listen

Listen to this recording in bed with the lights off, using a comfortable volume that lets the voice and rain sounds blend smoothly. You can simply let go and drift off to sleep long before the session ends.

Welcome to this time of rest. You might be wondering if your mind will ever slow down tonight, and that is completely okay. Right now, there is absolutely nothing to achieve and no effort to make. Just find a comfortable position in your bed, feeling the steady support beneath you. Whenever you are ready, you can simply allow your eyes to close. Remember that if anything needs your attention, you will immediately be fully present and alert.

Let your attention gently settle on the natural rhythm of your breathing. When you notice your breath slowing down all by itself… you can simply welcome it, allowing your exhale to become just a little bit longer than your inhale, without forcing anything at all.

This steady breath becomes a soothing anchor for your mind. After a few deep breaths, you can just let your breathing return to its own automatic, natural rhythm, trusting that your body knows exactly what to do to find comfort tonight.

Everyone knows that moment when the body begins to feel pleasantly heavy, settling deeply into the bed. Bring your awareness to your right thumb, index finger, palm, and wrist… moving up the right arm to the shoulder, and all the way down the right leg to the toes.

Now bringing your gentle attention to your left thumb, index finger, palm, and wrist… moving up the left arm to the shoulder, and all the way down the left leg to the toes.

Notice the whole back of your body resting heavily against the mattress, completely supported and safe. And feeling the front of your body, soft and relaxed, simply enjoying this soothing monotony that allows your mind to rest and your muscles to let go.

Imagine standing at the top of a safe, gentle wooden staircase, leading down to a place of deep comfort. And whether your mind quiets down completely now, or in just a few moments… it does not matter. Five… stepping down, feeling your body becoming heavier. Four… sinking deeper into the soft support of your mattress. Three… letting go of the day. Two… almost at the bottom now. And one… stepping down into a place of absolute safety and rest, ready to embrace the quiet of the night.

You find yourself stepping into a cozy, warm cabin, a perfect sanctuary where the outside world simply fades away. Outside, a gentle rain is falling, and you can hear the soothing sound of the drops tapping softly on the wooden roof. You sit in a comfortable armchair, wrapping a thick blanket around your shoulders, feeling its comforting weight. The room is bathed in a dim, soothing golden light from a small lantern, creating a space of complete tranquility where you can just breathe.

The more the rain falls outside, the more peaceful and safe it feels inside, as if each drop is washing away the tension. If a spinning thought from your day happens to arise, that is perfectly fine… you can simply notice it. Imagine placing that thought on a small green leaf floating down a gentle stream outside the cabin, watching it drift further and further away into the distance.

Or you can just let the gentle rain wash it away, returning your attention to the warmth of your blanket. You can simply let your thoughts drift by… like clouds moving across a night sky, always returning to the cozy, rich details of your safe haven.

Like a single autumn leaf drifting slowly to the ground, you are floating down into a space of deep restoration. Night after night, your mind learns how to settle faster, making room for restorative calm. You will find that daytime worries naturally take up less space at night. Every time you listen to this session, this calm will return to you more easily and quickly.

And simply recalling the sound of this gentle rain can bring you back to this calm whenever you need it in the future. The night knows how to… slow down… and simply… let go, and your body knows how to do exactly the same thing.

You can just continue to drift now, surrounded by warmth and safety, knowing that this deep rest is already restoring you completely.

The gentle music will continue to play for a while, keeping watch over you as you rest. Whether sleep comes immediately or simply takes its time, this quiet repose is enough, bringing you everything you need tonight.
