Who is this session for?

This session is designed for those nights when your mind will not stop racing about an important event the next day. It is perfect to listen to when you feel overwhelmed by anticipation and need gentle help disconnecting from tomorrow's tasks.

How does it unfold?

  1. at the startOpening RitualYou settle comfortably into your bed and take slow breaths while listening to the comforting sound of rain.
  2. around 1 minBreath and HeavinessYour breathing naturally slows down as your eyelids become pleasantly heavy and your muscles release their tension.
  3. around 3 minDeepening the RestYou follow a gentle body scan before visualizing a leaf drifting safely to the ground, guiding your body deeper into the mattress.
  4. around 5 minSoothing Word GameYou distract your busy mind by visualizing a series of unrelated, calming objects starting with the letter S, like a soft scarf or a sleeping star.
  5. around 9 minAnchoring CalmYou create a physical anchor with your fingers to easily recall this deep sense of safety and quiet strength during your big day tomorrow.
  6. around 10 minDrifting into SleepThe guidance slowly fades away, leaving you with the steady sound of rain to carry you into a peaceful slumber.

Why does it help you sleep?

This method gently distracts your brain from planning and overthinking by offering a series of random, unrelated images. By focusing on these simple objects, you prevent your mind from building stressful narratives about tomorrow. This process mimics the scattered, dream-like thoughts that naturally occur right before you fall asleep, signaling to your brain that it is safe to shut down. Meanwhile, the steady background sound of rain provides a comforting presence that helps soothe your nervous system.

How to listen

Listen to this recording while lying comfortably in your preferred sleeping position, keeping the volume low enough to just hear the rain. Allow yourself to drift off at any point before the session ends, as the soothing sounds will continue to guide you into a deep rest.

Welcome. You are here to rest before tomorrow… and there is no pressure to achieve anything at all tonight… If anything needs your attention, you will instantly be fully present… but right now, you are completely safe… Make sure your body is settled comfortably in your bed, noticing the firm support beneath you… Now take a moment to inhale slowly through your nose, letting the cool air fill your lungs gently and easily, and exhale fully, releasing any tension you might be holding onto…

Take another deep, comforting breath in, feeling your chest expand softly, and as you breathe out slowly, allow your shoulders to drop and relax a little more into the bed…

Your breath can now settle into its own natural, easy rhythm… you do not need to do anything to guide it… You might notice your eyelids becoming heavier with each passing moment… so heavy that it is deeply pleasant to leave them closed… The heavier your body becomes, the lighter your mind feels inside… With every natural exhale, the gentle sound of the rain against the window seems to wash away a little more tension from your tired muscles…

Let your attention drift gently through your body… noticing your right hand… your right arm… your right shoulder… moving over to your left hand… your left arm… your left shoulder… feeling your back resting deeply… down through your legs… to the soles of your feet…

Imagine a single leaf releasing from a high branch… drifting down, safely and easily, through the soft rain… swaying slowly from side to side… until it rests quietly on the ground… Just like that falling leaf, your body is sinking deeper and deeper into the warm comfort of your bed…

Your mind might be wondering a bit about tomorrow… and that is perfectly fine… When the mind is looking ahead, we can give it a soothing, quiet game to play… a series of gentle, unrelated images… no story to follow, nothing to figure out… We can explore images starting with the letter S… allowing each one to form effortlessly…

A soft winter scarf… feeling its warm, comforting texture gently wrapped around your shoulders on a chilly evening…

A smooth river stone… you can focus on its shape, or just the sound of my voice… feeling its cool surface resting in the palm of your hand…

A sailboat on calm water… gently rocking back and forth with the tiny, rhythmic ripples of a quiet mountain lake…

If any thoughts of tomorrow happen to drift back in, just let them pass by like slow-moving clouds in the night sky… and gently return your attention to the simple images…

A sleeping star… resting quietly and steadily in a vast, dark, and beautifully endless midnight sky…

A wide sandy shore… feeling perfectly soft, welcoming, and warm beneath your bare feet as you walk slowly…

Your body already knows exactly how to rest deeply and gather its essential energy for the day ahead… As you rest here… this steady strength is building within you all on its own… Tomorrow, this quiet strength will be right there with you… You can gently press your thumb and index finger together for just a moment right now… anytime tomorrow you need to feel this deep calm, simply repeating this gesture, or remembering the sound of this rain, will bring you back to this profound feeling of safety… Every time you return to listen, your mind will learn to find this peaceful letting go even more easily…

And now, there is absolutely nothing left to do… nowhere else to be… just this quiet moment of pure relaxation…

The gentle rain outside will continue to fall softly and steadily… keeping watch over you as you rest safely in your bed…

Just letting go of any remaining tension and allowing yourself to drift completely into total tranquility…

Sinking deeper into the soft mattress… feeling totally supported by the quiet atmosphere of the night…

Drifting along… slowly and safely… letting go and simply resting now…
