Why do I wake up at 3am?

Who is this session for?

This session is designed for those moments when you wake up hours before dawn and your mind immediately starts racing. It is perfect for early morning awakenings when you feel frustrated about not being able to fall back asleep. It guides you to release the pressure of needing to sleep, helping you find comfort in simply resting in the quiet dark.

How does it unfold?

  1. at the startSettling In & Opening RitualYou settle into your mattress and take three slow breaths, accepting that simply resting your body is already enough.
  2. around 1 minSlow Breathing InductionYou follow a gentle breathing rhythm, letting each long exhale settle your physical tension deeper into the bed.
  3. around 3 minDeepening with CountdownA slow countdown from ten to one guides you downward, accompanied by the calming visualization of a softly falling feather.
  4. around 5 minMorning Letting Go & Body ScanYou learn to let morning thoughts pass by like clouds, followed by a soothing, monotonous scan of your body parts.
  5. around 10 minReinforcement & AnchoringYou create a physical anchor by pressing your thumb and index finger together, giving you a tool to easily return to this calm state in the future.
  6. around 12 minDrifting into Deep SleepThe pacing slows down completely, allowing you to fade gently into the rest of your night without any pressure.

Why does it help you sleep?

When you wake up too early, the anxiety of losing sleep often keeps you awake. By focusing on a longer exhale and a monotonous body scan, this technique gently helps your body settle and shifts your attention away from racing morning thoughts. Removing the pressure to fall asleep actually creates the ideal conditions for your nervous system to relax. This allows your mind to quiet down, making it much easier to naturally drift back into a restorative state.

How to listen

Play this session at a very low volume as soon as you realize you are awake too early, staying in your most comfortable sleeping position. You do not need to stay awake for the whole recording; simply let yourself drift off whenever your body feels ready.

Everyone knows how comforting it feels to sink into a warm bed in the quiet night. Make yourself comfortable… noticing the soft support of your mattress beneath you. If anything needs your attention, you will instantly be fully awake… but for now, you can just let go. There is nothing to achieve. Just resting is enough.

Let's begin by taking three slow, deep breaths together, inhaling deeply through your nose, and exhaling fully, letting your body sink down.

I don't know if your shoulders will relax first… or if your breathing will slow down first… but you can just observe. Let's find a gentle, soothing rhythm… inhaling for four, and exhaling for six.

Take a slow, gentle breath in, filling your chest… and now let the air flow out slowly and smoothly, releasing all tension.

Breathe in again, welcoming a sense of quiet peace… and as you breathe out slowly, feel yourself sinking deeper into the soft bed.

One more time, inhale deeply and easily without effort… and as you exhale, let go of any need to do anything, returning to your natural breath.

With every long exhale, your body settles deeper. In a moment, I will count down from ten to one… and as you hear each number, you can allow yourself to drift twice as deep.

Ten… as you exhale, imagine a soft feather drifting slowly down through the quiet air.

Nine… sinking deeper into the warmth, feeling completely safe, supported, and held.

Eight… with every gentle breath out, your mind becomes quieter, softer, and calmer.

Seven… letting the feather float further down, easily, without any effort at all.

Six… halfway down now, trusting completely that your body knows exactly how to rest.

Five… feeling heavier, as the soft mattress supports the full weight of your body.

Four… drifting down, peaceful and secure, wrapped in a blanket of comforting darkness.

Three… almost there, allowing every muscle to release its hold as you exhale softly.

Two… drifting, floating, sinking into a beautiful space of profound and restorative peace.

One… resting perfectly, letting go of everything, right here in this quiet moment.

If you wake up early, it is completely fine… you don't even need to look at the time. Your body is resting, and that physical rest restores your energy. If sleep comes, let it come naturally… if not, simply resting here is perfectly fine. If morning thoughts drift in, you can let them pass by like clouds in a vast sky… acknowledging them, and letting them float away. Your body knows how to rest.

Let your attention glide gently through your body now… just noticing each part, without needing to change anything at all.

Notice your right arm and hand, from shoulder to fingertips, completely relaxed.

Feel your right leg and foot, from hip down to the toes, heavy and sinking nicely.

Now notice your left arm and hand, from shoulder to fingertips, entirely at rest.

Feel your left leg and foot, from hip to toes, letting go completely into the bed.

Notice your entire back resting heavily… and the front of your body feeling light.

The heavier your body feels, the lighter and more peaceful your mind becomes. You might notice that every time you listen to this session, it becomes easier to find this nighttime calm.

You can gently press your thumb and index finger together right now… just for a moment, feeling that gentle, calming connection.

This simple gesture, or simply thinking the word rest… can be your anchor. Next time you wake up early, use this gesture… and remember this feeling of deep, effortless comfort.

And now, as you settle into this quiet space, there is absolutely nothing left for you to do.

Just floating gently on your breath, drifting further down into a space of complete tranquility.

Feeling entirely safe, completely warm, and perfectly supported by the soft bed beneath you.

The gentle music will continue to play for a while, keeping watch over your peaceful rest.

Resting now… drifting quietly… so peaceful… so calm… letting go completely into the night.
