Who is this session for?

This session is designed for anyone holding onto physical tension and racing thoughts after a long, busy day. It is especially helpful when you feel wound up and need a gentle way to transition your mind and body into a state of deep rest.

  2. around 1 minGentle muscle relaxationYou will briefly and softly tense specific muscle groups, then release them to experience a wave of heavy relief.
  3. around 5 minDeepening with visualizationYou visualize yourself as a light leaf, drifting softly downward with each exhale until you land safely.

  6. around 14 minDrifting into sleepThe guidance slowly fades into comforting pauses, allowing you to naturally slide into a restorative slumber.

Why does it help you sleep?

Creating a soft contrast between light tension and deep release helps your nervous system clearly recognize and embrace physical relaxation. By visualizing your thoughts floating away on a river, you give your mind a gentle task that prevents it from overanalyzing the day's events. This combination of releasing muscle tightness and letting go of mental clutter creates the perfect internal environment to facilitate a natural, peaceful sleep.

Welcome to this time of rest. Make yourself comfortable in your bed… taking the time to feel how your mattress supports you completely from head to toe.

Everyone knows that comforting moment when the day is finally done… and the body just wants to sink into deep and peaceful rest.

Let’s begin by taking a deep, slow breath in through your nose… feeling the cool air entering… and then exhaling gently and fully through your mouth.

Take another slow breath in, filling your chest and belly with calm, quiet air… and let it all flow out slowly, letting your shoulders drop completely.

And one more time, inhale deeply at your own comfortable pace… and as you exhale, allow your eyes to close gently, whenever you feel ready to do so.

Remember that if anything requires your attention tonight, you will instantly be fully present and alert… while right now, you can simply enjoy being here.

Your body already knows exactly how to let go… we are just going to help it along by exploring the soothing contrast between gentle tension and deep release.

I don't know if your shoulders or your hands will be the first to feel completely heavy… but let's start with your hands and your arms.

Very gently, make soft fists with both of your hands… just a light tension, holding it for a few moments as you continue to breathe naturally.

And now release your hands completely… letting the fingers uncurl naturally and noticing that wonderful wave of warmth and relaxation spreading through your palms.

Now, gently pull your shoulders up just a little bit toward your ears… creating a very mild tension in your neck and upper back, just enough to notice it.

And let them drop down completely… feeling the heavy relief as all the muscles soften, melting smoothly into the comfortable surface beneath your back.

Next, slightly tense the muscles in your legs and feet… perhaps gently pointing your toes or pressing your heels down just a tiny bit against the sheets.

And release your legs entirely… feeling how incredibly heavy and relaxed they become, as if they are sinking comfortably into the soft, welcoming mattress.

When you notice your breathing becoming naturally slower, you can simply welcome that deep comfort… letting each exhale guide you further down into tranquility.

Imagine a small, soft leaf detaching from a branch in the warm evening air… gently swaying back and forth as it slowly drifts downward through the quiet sky.

With every breath out, you are floating down just like that leaf… perfectly safe, perfectly supported, gliding effortlessly through the calm, still air.

Swaying gently… drifting peacefully… until that soft leaf lands quietly on a bed of lush green moss… completely resting, just as you are resting now.

And as you rest here, you might picture a quiet, slow-moving river nearby… its surface smooth and peaceful, reflecting the fading twilight colors of the evening.

Sometimes, the events of the day linger in our minds… like little branches or dry leaves caught gently on the edge of the riverbank.

You can just gently place any remaining thoughts or reflections onto a leaf, and set it carefully on the water, allowing the river to carry it.

Watch as the gentle current catches the leaf… carrying it away around the gentle bend of the river, taking those thoughts into the peaceful distance.

Another thought might arise, and that is perfectly fine… simply place it on another leaf, and watch it float away at its own gentle, unhurried pace.

The heavier your body sinks into the mattress, the lighter and freer your mind becomes… as the steady, quiet river washes the day away completely.

You have created this beautiful, serene space of calm inside yourself… a quiet refuge where you are totally protected and embraced by tranquility.

To help your body remember this profound peace, you can lightly touch your thumb and index finger together for just a brief, comforting moment.

This simple gesture is a small, silent signal to your body… letting it know that it is entirely safe to let go, safe to rest deeply and completely tonight.

Every time you return to this session, your body and mind will recognize the path… making it easier and faster to find this peaceful, restorative rest.

And now, you can just enjoy being here… feeling the comforting, steady rhythm of your own natural breath guiding you into a deep slumber.

Your body knows the way… you can simply allow the quiet night to wrap around you, letting the gentle waves of rest wash over you.

Drifting further down now… so peaceful… so wonderfully heavy and relaxed… as the soothing music continues to watch over you in this safe space.

Just letting go… drifting smoothly into the quiet… letting sleep come exactly as it wishes, whenever it is ready… resting deeply now.
