Why does it help you sleep?

By combining slow, guided breathing with a highly detailed sensory environment, this session gently redirects your attention away from daily worries. The comforting sounds of the rain and the imagined scent of old books create a strong sense of safety, which signals to your body that it is time to rest. As you follow the imagery of the sliding raindrop, your breathing naturally slows down to match its peaceful pace. This effortless focus helps release physical tension, making it much easier to drift into a deep sleep.

How to listen

Welcome to this time of rest. You are safe here in your bed, and if anything needs your attention, you will instantly be fully present and alert. But for now, there is nothing to do. Allow your body to settle deeply into the mattress… feeling the gentle support beneath you. We are going to begin with three slow breaths, like opening the door to a quiet room waiting for you.

Take a deep, slow breath in through your nose, letting your chest and your belly expand softly…

And now, release the air gently and completely, letting all the tension of the day simply melt away…

Breathe in again, at your own pace, drawing in a sense of calm and quiet comfort…

And exhale slowly, sinking a little deeper into the softness of your bed, feeling completely held…

Take one more gentle breath in, filling your lungs with peace, ready to let go of the waking world…

And breathe out with a long, slow sigh, allowing your body to become wonderfully heavy and relaxed.

Now, let your breathing find its own natural rhythm. You do not need to guide it anymore… your body already knows exactly how to relax. If any thoughts drift into your mind, or if you hear any sounds from outside… you can simply welcome them as friendly guests, letting them guide you further into comfort. With every long breath out, your body relaxes a little more.

Everyone knows that comforting feeling of being safe inside while it rains outside… You can imagine yourself slowly walking into a beautiful, old library. The room is softly lit by a warm reading lamp… casting a golden glow over endless shelves of books. I wonder what you will notice first… the comforting scent of the old pages and waxed wood, or the steady, soothing sound of the rain tapping against the large glass windows.

You walk toward a large, plush leather armchair facing the window… and you slowly sit down. The leather is soft and inviting, holding you perfectly. You are completely safe here, sheltered and warm. You can just watch the rain falling in the quiet evening. The old books around you… rest quietly… on the shelves… just as you can… let go.

The heavier the rain falls outside, the lighter your breathing feels inside. With each breath out, you are sinking a little deeper into this profound sense of peace. Imagine watching a single raindrop slowly sliding down the windowpane. It moves at its own perfect pace… safely, smoothly, without any effort at all. Just like that raindrop, you are gently gliding down toward a deep, restorative sleep.

Every time you listen to this session, your body will remember this exact feeling of peace… and you will find it even easier to drift away. If you ever need to find this calm again, you can simply gently touch your thumb and index finger together… or recall the fresh, cozy scent of the rain and the old paper. It is always here for you. You do not need to try to sleep. If sleep comes, let it wrap around you… and if not, this beautiful, deep rest is already enough.

Feeling the warmth of this room… is already allowing yourself to sleep. The sounds of the rain are fading slightly… becoming a soft, distant hum. Your breathing is slow. Your body is resting safely.

Drifting away now.

Letting go.

Sleep well.
