Why does it help you sleep?
Moving your attention continuously across different body parts occupies your mind, preventing restless thoughts from taking over. Exploring contrasting physical sensations, like warmth and coolness, helps release lingering muscle tension gently. By giving your brain a simple and comforting focus, this method naturally facilitates a state of deep rest.
How to listen
Listen to this recording while lying comfortably in bed, with the lights out and the volume set low. You do not need to stay awake until the end, so just let yourself drift off whenever sleep comes.

Welcome to this time of rest. We are going to gently soothe your body for the night, without forcing anything at all. Your body knows exactly how to let go of the day. First, take a moment to settle in comfortably. Notice how the mattress supports you. Let yourself feel the weight of your body resting safely. If anything needs your attention, you will instantly be fully present. Now, let us take three slow breaths together.
Take a nice, slow breath in through your nose, allowing the air to fill your space gently, and then let it all the way out…
Take another deep, calming breath, drawing in comfort, and exhale slowly, letting your shoulders sink down just a little bit more…
And one more deep breath in your own time, filling your lungs peacefully, and as you breathe out, you can close your eyes whenever you wish…
You do not need to change how you breathe anymore… just let your breath find its own natural rhythm. When you notice your breathing slowing down all by itself, you can simply welcome this peace. Your eyelids are becoming so heavy and comfortable that it feels better to just keep them closed.
Now, let your attention drift smoothly through your body, like a gentle wave. You might feel your right hand relaxing first, or maybe your left hand… whatever happens is perfectly fine. Let your awareness rest softly on your right hand… the fingers… the palm… the wrist… flowing up to your shoulder… and all the way down your right leg to your toes…
And now, let that soft attention glide over to your left hand… noticing the fingers… the palm… the wrist… moving up to your left shoulder… and traveling down your left side, all the way to your left toes…
Moving your awareness to your back… feeling your shoulder blades resting heavy… letting the back of your head sink deeply into the pillow… and bringing that gentle attention to your chest and belly, rising and falling with your breath.
The more your body sinks into the bed, the lighter your mind becomes. Imagine a feeling of deep, pleasant heaviness spreading through you… safely anchored to the earth.
And now, let that heaviness melt away, inviting a sensation of pure lightness… feeling as weightless as a soft cloud drifting through the evening sky…
Notice a gentle warmth wrapping around your shoulders… and then feel a refreshing, pleasant coolness on your forehead, like a soft breeze…
A part of you might still feel a little tension, while another part is already resting deeply… and both are absolutely welcome.
Imagine a soft feather gracefully floating down through the warm, calm air… drifting slowly left… and right… descending deeper into a safe, peaceful place… sinking effortlessly into total tranquility…
Your body already knows exactly how to rest and restore itself. To help you find this deep calm again, you can softly press your thumb and index finger together right now… just a gentle touch.
Whenever you touch your thumb and index finger together in the future, this comforting peace will return more easily. Every time you listen to this session, letting go will become even simpler.
You can just allow yourself to… drift away… and simply… rest. If sleep comes, let it gently wash over you… and if not, this deep rest is just as valuable.
The music will continue to play for a little while… watching over you… as you glide into the quiet night… drifting… floating… peacefully resting…
